Toronto is our starting point. Conversations with other communities are welcome.

WHAT WE WOULD BUILD TOGETHER

From listening
to a local action plan.

A pilot should give your team something useful to work with, and give residents a clear account of what happens next.

Talk through your pilot
  1. 01

    A participation plan

Agree the community, safety topics, outreach partners and supported ways to take part, including QR-linked forms.

  2. 02

    A reviewed picture of priorities

Group concerns into understandable themes, with geographic summaries where appropriate and clear limits on what the data can tell us.

  3. 03

    Proposals and progress updates

Use findings to inform practical improvements, grant proposals and advocacy. Agree who follows up and how the community hears back.

Proposed pilot outputs. Scope, responsibilities, budget and reporting cadence would be agreed with each partner before launch.

OUR MISSION

Listen widely.
Act locally.
Share what changes.

SafeCity Voices aims to connect the lived experience of children, youth, women and other underrepresented groups with community leaders, elected officials, funders and advocates.

We want local knowledge to inform safer places, better proposals and more responsive investment. Communities should see what was heard, what is proposed and what progress has been made.

Before real collection begins, each pilot needs agreed privacy, consent, safeguarding and review arrangements. Community reports would share reviewed summaries, with sensitive disclosures kept separate. This is an independent initiative, not a municipal emergency service.

BEFORE WE TALK

A few practical questions

Can organizations outside Toronto join?

Yes, we welcome expressions of interest from other communities. Toronto is the starting point for the pilot. Availability, local partners and readiness would be discussed before agreeing any new location.

Is the programme ready for real reports?

The intake and dashboard are working demonstrations. Real report collection has not opened. A live pilot needs agreed operating responsibilities, consent, safeguarding, data access and review arrangements.

What would a pilot cost?

There is no standard price published at this stage. Scope, support, responsibilities and any costs would be discussed before an agreement. Sending an enquiry is an expression of interest and creates no purchase or programme commitment.

Who would see community findings?

The intended outputs are reviewed summaries for communities and partner organizations, with appropriate access controls and privacy protections. We would agree the reporting approach before launch. Community reporting is intended to support constructive action, not publish a league table of municipalities.

Is this part of Aethics?

SafeCity Voices is being developed as a proposed community participation programme within the Aethics ecosystem. The planned connection is between community priorities, responsible AI practice, learning and local action. Technical integration is not yet live. Explore Aethics ↗.
